I’m back Jack!
Hey guys – I’m back from a fantastic trip to South Africa!
I got to spend some very precious time with family and friends, indulged waaaay too much in delicious food and drinks (but it was so totally worth it), and got to see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world (ex-pat bias?).
We may also have gotten soaked while camping in tents, got lost while driving on the wrong side of the road, and spent 18 hours on the plane back home with crying babies all around. You gotta love a great adventure 
I’m so glad my husband got to see where I grew up and meet some of the most important people in my life. I feel very blessed to have gone on this trip and the memories will sustain me for a long time!
I picked up some fantastic ideas, recipes and inspiration which I am very much looking forward to sharing with y’all!!
Today is laundry and grocery day for me. My clothes still smell like camp fire and I had yummy South African fudge for breakfast (in addition to my regular oatmeal – I’m trying hard to get back to my regular eating, but I just couldn’t resist!!). The weather in Toronto is incredible today and as I sit here I have the doors thrown open to let in the spring air and I have already walked to the corner shop to buy some tulips for my kitchen. Life is good!

Glad you and your husband enjoyed SA. Seems like you got an excellent day for Cape Town. No Kaapse dokter on the mountain(the cloud which brings the blowing wind). We received quite a lot of rain over Easter Weekend and some places were nearly washed away. Keep well and enjoy your day.

Hi Coleen – Cape Town was really beautiful, and the Kaapse dokter was there a few of the days that we were there. It was raining in SA when we left, and it’s been raining in Toronto the last couple of days. The rain is good, but I hope it goes away for the weekend so that I can go out and play
