Open shelving: what do you have to hide?
If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I am a big fan of making my home and my entertaining tasteful, but always with a casual flair. Then what could be more casual than open shelving in the kitchen? It screams: I’m laid back!
I have a huge love for pretty plates and bowls and glasses and it would be sorta nice to put them on display on open shelves – you know, to show them off even when I’m not using them. But I think that my kitchen cupboards are a bit too stuffed and in order to successfully pull off the open shelf look. You need to edit your collection so that it doesn’t end up looking like a cluttered mess.
So: Open kitchen shelving – only for the truly organized?

I like open shelving but I am so disorganized and have so many different plates / cups. I dream about having some cool matching sets one day – then I promise I will put them proudly on display!
