I revel, do you?

Today I am introducing a new series about all the things that give us that toe curling joy in life!  And no, iRevel is not the newest Apple app!  I hope that this series will help all of us open our eyes to the beauty and pleasure of things and moments in our everyday lives.

It is no secret that I love the fall season.  I look forward to it every year and am thrilled when the first chilly day hits so that I can revel in some of my favourite fall related treats. Here are some of those fall things that make me do the happy dance:

1. I revel in candy corn.  Once fall hits I am always on the lookout for candy corn and shamelessly devour these little sugary candies.  Ok, there is probably some shame involved – especially when the bowl is suddenly empty! Oops?

Perhaps part of the appeal is that we can’t buy these yummy candies all year round and it feels like I need to squeeze in a whole year of candy corn enjoyment into just a couple of months!

2. I revel in scarves!  I am definitely a scarf girl.  Aside from the obvious warmth benefits, scarves are perfect for changing up an outfit.  I love to take a plain t-shirt and accessorize with different scarves.  That way it looks like I have a lot more clothes than I actually do! Plus, there are so many different types of scarves: girly, glam, funky, preppy, artsy – and you can match the scarf to fit your mood.

3. I revel in Mums on front porches!  No, not MOM’s on front porches (although, I’m sure mom’s like hanging out on front porches too!).  I have already successfully killed 2 white mums this year, so if any of you out there have some tips for me on keeping them alive I would love to hear it because I’m heading out to replace the sad dead ones soon.  Then hopefully my front porch will look all nice and welcoming again!

So let’s hear it from you: what do YOU revel in come fall season??

Love your blog! and love this idea! Candy Corn is a definite fall must. Have you ever tried eating it with peanuts. Do try. It’s quite delicious.

For me, nothing says fall like baked apples. Apple Crisp is probably one of my most favorite desserts, but somehow tastes so much better when the sun sets sooner and the temps start to drop. And if I’m feeling lazy, I’ll just peel an apple, cut it up, pop it in the microwave with a little butter, cinnamon and sugar, and it’s totally delicious.

PS – That first scarf is gorgeous.

Ooh scarves — I definitely revel in scarves & am perfectly fine with having a couple basic shirts & lots of different scarves to wrap up in.
I also love winter squash & hiking through a carpet of red & golden leaves crunching beneath my feet. Fall is worth savoring.
I love your blog. I thought I had subscribed but apparently I need to check on it because I never received updates for your last few posts. I thought you hadn’t been posting, but now I just need to catch up!
