So Halloween 2016 is behind us. I actually had a lot of fun with Halloween this year – between the decorating and the snacks and the costumes I would say that we made the best of it! Well, except for the fake cobwebs and spiders that I bought 2 months ago and still have NO clue where I put it.
My morning started with a Halloween brunch at Pulp Kitchen with these fab blogging ladies! It is always so amazing to meet other bloggers with an interest in healthy living. This group was just oozing enthusiasm and it was contagious! (Picture courtesy of Morgan, who also organized the brunch.)

How awesome is that saying on the wall??!! “Always do right. This will gratify some people and astound the rest” That’s something to strive for I think!
It was GORGEOUS out when I got home and all the neighbours were out raking up leafs in the golden sunlight while I was carving our pumpkin- aaaah bliss!
I wanted to complete the moment by making myself a chai latte – but then I burned the milk and the little loose leaf tea holder opened up and spilled the chai everywhere so I didn’t drink it!
Would you believe I have never carved a pumpkin before? Blame it on me living in apartment buildings up until recently, or growing up in Africa. So today, armed with my very amateur skills I went to town hacking at a pumpkin with a very sharp knife.
No fancy carving designs for this chick though – basic was the only way to go today!
Future roasted pumpkin seeds and late night TV snack:
A little rascal of a racoon got at our pumpkins overnight and skillfully used its little hands and fingers to make holes in the pumpkin and politely scoop the guts onto the back deck. I secretly think this is super cute and would loved to have seen the dude going about his work!
And now, to reward you for reading all the way to the end of this post, here are my classy husband and I in our Halloween finest:
We went to friends’ house for a party last night and I got to play “saloon girl”, while Derek donned an awesome mullet, brutal handlebar moustache, faded AC/DC T-shirt and a huge can of cheap beer. Good times were had by all!
Did you dress up for Halloween??
What was the cutest outfit you saw at your door?? The little cute and shy ones in fuzzy animal suits steal my heart every time!
