With 1 ferry, 1 airport hotel, 3 flights,
a snowy welcome home,
5 loads of laundry,
2 jet-lagged mornings of being fully awake at 3am,
and 1 workday behind me
I am finally starting to wrap my mind around the fact that we are home!
Vacations are weird because sometimes you are not able to fully understand what you got to experience and see until you are home, where the contrast between your vacation and your life is so much more in your face!
It is an understatement to say that we had an incredible time! Derek and I talked a lot on our trip about how travelling and various life experiences add so much to the way you perceive life. As I sit here today I feel so much richer in life experiences than I did a month ago. There is no limit to how much you can experience (and it does not need to be on the other side of the world). Every time you step outside of your bubble you add to your life view. And that is beautiful.
Sorry for the psychobabble, but my head is still spinning!
I have one question for you though: How on earth do you show off a nice tan when winter forces you to be covered from head to toe???
PS. It’s nice to be back
